Artist Bios

Rebecca Horta

A Los Angeles native, Rebecca Horta is a bilingual arts manager and museum educator with twelve years of experience. Rebecca currently serves as Arts Manager of the Airport Art Exhibition Program at LAX for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs Public Art Division. Previously, Rebecca developed programs for the Ontario Museum of History & Art and the Museum of Latin American Art. As the daughter of immigrant parents from Jalisco, Mexico, Rebecca's passion is inspired by her own culture, thus her advocacy for life-long learning. Her interests include accessibility to museums and the empowerment of women of color in the arts. She is currently a board member of the Western Association of Museums and is on the advisory board of Las Fotos Project. She is a mentor through the Occidental College Latino Alumni Association and the Emerging Arts Leaders/Los Angeles. Rebecca received her MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University and a BA in Art History from Occidental College.

Jose M Zamora

Jose M Zamora is a Professor at CSU Fullerton in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies. He is ethnically Mexican with indigenous roots from the state of Michoacan, Mexico. His research areas include Masculinity and Fatherhood as well as Digital Ethnic Studies. He has been practicing art since he was a child. His work attempts to bring together Ethnic Studies with "nerdy" forms of art such as Cyberpunk and Anime.
