Dance for Joy

Your Voice Your Stage: YOUth Create the Show

Saturdays 12:00-2:00

September 12 - December 12 (no class on November 28)

For grades 6-10

This program focuses on the development of the triple skills for Musical Theatre (Singing, Dancing, Acting) while putting together a performance that is unique to that group. Material could be drawn from:

  • The kids themselves – using themes they might want to explore or write about

  • Found material (on-line social media, on-line shopping, blogs, non-theatrical print material, etc.)

  • Pictures/photos to inspire monologues/scenes

  • Poetry and other existing texts

This program operates through the Lineage lens of story-telling as social action/healing.

Our sliding scale reflects our values of community and shared responsibility. Those who are able to contribute at higher levels help make our programs accessible to all. We don't want anyone who wants to participate not register because of an inability to pay the access rate. Contact cynthia@lineagepac.org if you need additional assistance.
