Ghost Light: A Haunted Evening of Music, Movement, and Stories

October 23-24, 2026

Every theater has its ghost stories. The tradition of leaving a single ghost light glowing onstage after the audience has gone home has long been said to welcome the spirits who still linger in the theater—and to remind us that every stage holds the memories of the artists who have come before. Inspired by this timeless theatrical tradition, Ghost Light invites audiences into an enchanting evening where the mysterious, the magical, and the delightfully spooky come to life through music, dance, and storytelling. From haunting melodies and playful Halloween favorites to chilling tales and unforgettable characters, this performance celebrates the wonder of the season with Lineage’s signature blend of artistry and heart.

After the Fire: The Art of Resilience

January 7-8-9-10, 16-17, 2027

In January 2025, the Eaton Fire forever changed thousands of lives across Altadena, Pasadena, and the surrounding communities. After the Fire is Lineage’s response—not simply as a performance, but as a community act of healing. On August 15 and September 12 (10:00-12:00), we will host two free creative workshops where community members are invited to share stories, movement, music, artwork, writing, photographs, and memories inspired by their experiences. Together with professional artists, composers, writers, and musicians—many of whom were themselves directly impacted by the Eaton Fire—these voices will become the foundation of an original multidisciplinary performance that honors loss, celebrates resilience, and reminds us of the extraordinary strength found in community.

Little Shop of Horrors

January 28, 30, 31
February 4, 6, 7

After a completely sold out run, we are bringing back your favorite carnivorous plant for a limited reprise. In true Lineage style, dance breathes a new life into this classic story. Chris Nichols observes that "Lineage’s production employs a troupe of dancers that bring athleticism and grace to the stage, with actors hopping high over broomsticks, contorting into furniture, and wiggling as evil plant tentacles."

30 Below: Stories That Connect Us

February 26-27-28, 2027

30 Below is an original, interdisciplinary performance work that brings together theater, dance, and music to explore mental health through the lens of reflection, memory, and growth. Centered on a group of individuals in their early thirties looking back on their teenage years, the show illuminates the often invisible struggles of adolescence - anxiety, disordered eating, identity, grief, and the quiet, persistent feeling of not belonging - and traces how those experiences evolve over time.

Tick, Tick . . . Boom!

May 14 - June 6, 2027

"Before Rent changed the landscape of musical theater, there was Tick, Tick… Boom!—Jonathan Larson’s deeply personal, exhilarating, and heartbreakingly honest portrait of an artist chasing a dream while racing against time. Set just before his 30th birthday, the autobiographical musical follows Larson as he wrestles with ambition, friendship, love, and the relentless question every artist eventually faces: What if I’m running out of time? Overflowing with the rock music, wit, vulnerability, and emotional intensity that would later define Rent, the show offers an intimate glimpse into the creative spirit of one of Broadway’s most influential voices." Who We Are

We are a nonprofit performing arts center, classified as 501(c) (3), that focuses on giving back to our community, engaging audiences, and enriching adult and youth development.

We prioritize these 3 main pillars in our programming:

Original Productions

We produce 7-8 productions each year, performing for an audience of over 2,000 people. These productions are multidisciplinary works, combining dance, music, and storytelling to illuminate a topic. Our company members perform a book musical each year, in which we add our Lineage spin, reimagining the story with primarily movement and dance.

Dance for Joy

This is a program unique to Lineage, focused on providing dance, music, and acting classes to people with Parkinson’s, MS, TBI, and stroke. They also appear in many of our Lineage productions. This program is free to all participants and provides creative ways to manage and mitigate the symptoms of neurological conditions. There are 6.5 hours of free classes each week.

Performing Arts Education

We provide Teaching Artists in Dance to several Title 1 schools in the Pasadena Unified School District, serving over 350 students each year. These are classes that offer dance opportunities in schools that do not have formal programs and each of the programs are growing annually. We also sponsor the John Muir Mystics Dance Team, providing space free of charge and hosting their summer intensive and dance concert annually. We teach classes in our facility to all ages in Musical Theatre, Modern Dance, and Acting, serving over 100 students each year.

Lineage’s mission is to serve as a hub for artistic connection and creative expression, offering diverse opportunities in dance, music, theatre, and the performing arts. For over 25 years, we have advanced community accessibility, arts education, and local artist employment while producing impactful performances and hosting visiting artists in our black box theatre and dance studio. Through strategic partnerships with nonprofits, we leverage the arts to raise awareness and support for causes that strengthen and uplift our community.
