The Eaton wildfire left many residents displaced, traumatized, and disconnected from their sense of safety and belonging. While immediate aid addressed physical needs, emotional and spiritual healing remain urgent. Survivors need opportunities not only to be heard, but also to experience joy, connection, and collective resilience. Story-telling, music, and dance are proven pathways for community healing that transcend cultural and language barriers.

Lineage Performing Arts Center will host two story-telling, music, and dance workshops for community members impacted by the Eaton fire. Participants will have the opportunity to share their lived experiences, listen to one another, and begin to weave a collective narrative of resilience. These will be inclusive, intergenerational workshops led by Eaton Fire survivors and Lineage artists as participants explore rhythm, movement, and song as tools for expression and healing. The workshops will build toward collaborative pieces that integrate participants’ stories, songs, and dances. A visual arts element will be included to display in our gallery. A culminating event open to the public, featuring performances created in the workshops. Proceeds will support ongoing wildfire recovery efforts and honor the strength of impacted communities.

There is no charge for the workshops and there is no pre-registration needed. These workshops are open to all participants over the age of ten and no prior experience is needed. Bring a journal if you like; otherwise, paper and pencils will be provided.
